PROJECT HIGHLIGHT
Monterey California
Residence
One of my favorite projects was a highly customized design located just minutes from historic Cannery Row in Monterey, California. From start to finish, I was deeply involved, attending nearly every client meeting, conducting the site analysis, and ensuring the design aligned with city codes and permitting standards.
Starting from a rough concept sketch, I developed the layout, guided material and plant selections, and produced both planting and lighting plans. I also served as the primary communicator with the project manager, refining construction and permitting documents through multiple rounds of revisions.
This project stands out not only for its complexity and unique location but also for the sense of whimsy it brought to life, making it one I am especially proud of.

Process and Sketches
I value sketching as an essential part of design, where ideas take form in a way that words alone cannot. Early sketches clarify spatial concepts while conveying mood, energy, and character, creating an accessible entry point for dialogue with clients. By inviting feedback and collaboration through sketches, I find clients gain clarity, confidence, and excitement, while expectations remain well-managed.
